A character cottage by the sea, 400 years old with beams, steep stairs, quirky walls and creaky floors, just a stone’s throw from the world famous Chesil Beach and Portland Harbour, sleeping seven in three bedrooms. Based in the iconic sailing location with access to water sports, walks and outdoor activities, close to local cafes including Quiddles on Chesil Beach and The Cove House Inn where locals and visitors gather to watch the sun set over Lyme Bay.
THE SPACE
The cosy sitting room has a beamed ceiling and tiled floor, the modern kitchen has a dishwasher, cooker and fridge freezer. A "Cottage Style" staircase takes you to the first floor where there is a large double bedroom and a bathroom. A steep, twisting, old fashioned staircase takes you up to the second floor where there is a double bedroom and a triple bedroom with bunk beds.
There is a small garden with a seating area at the front of the property, next to the road. Parking is on-street, there is unrestricted parking immediately to the front of the property and a small free car park just over the road; an additional free car park is located further along Chiswell, approximately 400 metres away.

INFORMATION
On the ground floor is the living and dining area, with LCD TV / DVD and a well equipped kitchen to the rear. We also have a suntrap front garden with outdoor furniture to relax.
On the first floor is a double bedroom with king-size bed and a large bathroom with separate bath and shower cubicle.
On the top floor is double bedroom and another one with one single bed and a set of bunk beds.
Fully controllable, electric heating is included in the price and there is a living flame gas fire in the lounge. Domestic hot water is supplied by a timed, immersion heater whilst the shower has its own on demand supply at all times.
Parking is on-street outside the cottage and in the surrounding area. There is also a small free car park opposite the cottage and 'Pay and Display' car parks within 5 to 10 minutes walk.
Tompot Cottage is a centuries old, traditional Portland stone building with steep stairs. The layout of the property means that any young children or people with limited mobility should be supervised at all times.
Weymouth & Portland is an excellent base for exploring South Dorset’s coast and countryside, being located in the heart of the Jurassic Coast.
Weymouth Train station is about 5 miles away and from there the cottage can be reached by taxi or bus. There are frequent buses between Weymouth and Portland.
OUT AND ABOUT
Portland offers scenic coastal walks, hidden coves and stunning views, whilst the nearby town of Weymouth offers a lively nightlife, high street shops, a sweeping sandy beach and a varied, exciting calendar of events throughout the year. Some of the highlights of the local area:
